The debut Ukrainian gold medal was won by Yevhen Marusyak.
Ukrainian Evgeny Marusyak won the Continental Ski Jumping Cup stage in Klingenthal, Germany.
This victory is historic for Ukraine – the first of such competitions.
Marusyak took the lead after the first attempt, completing a jump of 138 meters and receiving 135.6 points for it. In the last round, the 22-year-old Ukrainian athlete consolidated his success, again showing the best result – a jump of 135.5 meters, estimated at 130.8 points.
As a result, the Ukrainian with a total score of 266.4 points in total confidence won the gold medal, ahead of the closest pursuer in front of the Swiss Remo Imhof by 17.2 points.
