The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) will consider an appeal against the cancellation of the World Volleyball Championship in Russia and its compensation for several months, believes the president of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VVF). Stanislav Shevchenko.
In March, the FIVB announced Russia’s non-admission to international competitions. Russia also lost the right to host the men’s world championship, which was to be held in August-September 2022. Later, VFV leaders reported that they filed an appeal with the FIVB internal arbitration, in one of the claims, the VFV seeks compensation of 80 million dollars for the transfer of the World Cup from Russia.
– For the moment, there is no response from the FIVB to our two complaints. A claim for the withdrawal of Russian athletes and teams, the second concerns the cancellation of the World Cup in Russia and its compensation. The International Federation will first examine our claims in its commissions, after which we will, apparently, go to the CAS. There is no deadline to review our complaints with the FIVB. I think it will take several months,” Shevchenko told .
