Ukrainian fighter – about the upcoming title fight in the light heavyweight division
Ukrainian UFC fighter Igor Poterya gave his prediction for the upcoming title fight in “his” light heavyweight division between Jiri Prochazka and champion Glover Teixeira.
“I give preference to Jiri Prochazka. I like it stylistically. He has a very difficult path, as a man and a fighter, he went through almost everything. Prohazka deserves this title and I really hope that he will win this fight, – said the Ukrainian.
“If you take Teixeira – this is an“ old warrior ”, but we must give him his due, because at this age he became a champion. I admire him, he is really well done. But still here I give preference to Jiri. The main thing for Jiri is not to allow yourself to underestimate Glover. He has very good grappling.”
Teixeira had their last fight on October 30 last year, defeating Jan Blachowicz by submission. In total, the Brazilian has 40 fights in MMA – 37 wins and three losses.
Prohazka won 28 out of 32 professional fights, lost three, and drew one. The last time he entered the octagon was in May last year, defeating Dominic Reyes by knockout.
The Teixeira-Prochazka fight will take place on the night of June 12 in Singapore as part of the UFC-275 evening, in which it will become the main event.
