The former coach of the national team of Ukraine is ready to resume his coaching career
Former Ukrainian footballer and ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team Andrey Shevchenko said that plans to resume coaching career.
“In recent months, it would be wrong to accept any offers because my head was in a different place. But now I’m thinking about getting back to the job I love.”
Recall that Shevchenko was on the list of contenders for the post of head coach of the Polish national team.
In 2016-21, the coach led the Ukrainian national team and led the country’s main team to the historic quarter-finals of Euro 2020. The only place of work among the clubs for Shevchenko was Genoa. The coach took over the Griffins in November 2021, but was fired from his post in January 2022.
It was reported that Serie B club Cosenza was interested in the Ukrainian mentor. However, the Ukrainian immediately refused the offer, linking the refusal to the lack of motivation to work in the second Italian division.
