Pechersk court dismissed Pavelko from the post of UAF president

Pavelko has the right to appeal

Pechersky court of the city of Kyiv dismissed the president of the Football Association of Ukraine (UAF) Andrey Pavelko from his position until March 17, 2023.

Pavelko’s party may file an appeal within five days at the appropriate authority. If the appeal is not accepted, the court’s decision comes into force on February 22. Note that the head of the UAF was present at the hearing.

Earlier, the prosecutor’s office filed a petition with the court to remove Pavelko and the general secretary of the organization, Yuri Zapisotsky, from office for two months. Recently, large-scale searches by SBU officers took place in the House of Football.

The UAF supported Pavelko. The organization believes that the situation around Pavelko leads to the only goal – to deprive Ukraine of a place in the UEFA Executive Committee, where the head of the UAF should be re-elected. In addition, the Association believes that Pavelko is the main opponent of the Russian Federation in the international arena.

Recall that the Pechersk Court of Kiev appointed the head of the UAF a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for two months, until January 22, 2023. However, Pavelko had the opportunity to make a bail, which was used by the UAF, paying about 10 million hryvnias.

Pavelko, together with Zapisotsky, is a defendant in a criminal case and received suspicions in a corruption case. The Moscow Court imposed a similar measure of restraint on Zapisotsky.

The UAF considers the entire process to be commissioned work from the former leaders of the association. At the same time, on October 18, a search was carried out in the house of the president of the organization. Pavelko denied conducting searches in his own house, but stressed that behind-the-scenes games “with a Russian trace” were being waged, the purpose of which was to remove the current leadership of the Association.

In 2018, the Schemes program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andriy Pavelko of corruption through a factory for the production of artificial fields.
