Rodnina called on the IOC to announce specific decisions on Russia’s admission to the 2024 Olympic Games
In a resolution of 444 votes to 26 with 37 abstentions, European lawmakers declared that the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympics, even under a neutral flag, “contradicts the total isolation of these countries and will be used by the two regimes for propaganda purposes.”
The European Parliament has called on the 27 EU countries and the international community to put pressure on the IOC to reverse its decision, “which is a shame for the international sporting world”.
