Fury’s father: Team Usyk won’t pay Tyson what he’s worth

John Fury reveals money is the problem in talks over undisputed fight

John Fury father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Furysaid that there were problems in the negotiations for the fight for the title of absolute champion between the Briton and the holder of the WBO / WBA / IBF / IBO heavyweight belts Oleksandr Usyk came about because of money.

“That’s the delay with Tyson – they won’t pay him what he’s worth. They want him for nothing. They want to make money, they want the lion’s share and they give Tyson a small part.”

“But that doesn’t bother us. This is Fury’s way, we bow to no one. We are the kings of the ring at the moment.”

Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krasyuk said he was optimistic about the imminent signing of a contract for a unification fight. At the same time, the Ukrainian side insists on the distribution of income “50:50”, given that Usyk owns three championship titles, and Tyson – one.

Fury and Usyk plan to hold a face-to-face fight for the title of absolute world champion on April 29 in London at Wembley Stadium. Fury’s promoters are urging the Ukrainian to fight in London, as the stadium in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) does not have time to build by the date of the fight.
