Femke Bol had an amazing season at the Dutch Indoor Championships in Athletics.
Another world success that was considered “eternal” has fallen. Femke Bol broke the world record in 400 meters indoors. It happened at the home athletics national championship for the athlete.
The 22-year-old Dutch woman covered the distance in 49.26 seconds, bettering Yarmila Kratokhvilova’s result. A Czech athlete, almost 41 years ago, on March 7, 1982, ran the distance in 49.59 seconds.

“I was hoping that I would run out of 50 seconds here, but 49.26 is too great, I really don’t have the words to describe it.
I have never seen the local stadium full. It was so cool that it happened in front of my native audience. It was difficult for me in the last lap, but the crowd helped me.
This is my first real distance world record. Could it be faster? I don’t know, it was almost a perfect race,” Bol commented on his record in an interview with NOS.nl.
Note that this is the Dutch girl’s second victory in February. Previously, he set a record in the distance of 500 meters. Bol crossed it in 65.63 seconds.
It will be remembered that LeBron James previously broke the “eternal” record for points scored in the NBA.
