The International Olympic Committee still does not know how and where to find an honest Russian athlete. This was stated in the organization’s response to an open letter in which about 30 countries asked for clarification about the neutral status of Russians and Belarusians.
Now the IOC said that initially they are not planning to allow athletes from the aggressor countries in the Paris Games, and the discussion is only concerned with their participation in the Asian competitions.
As for the 2024 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee does not know how to find a Russian athlete who does not support the killing of Ukrainians, because they are all funded by the state.
“What are the criteria for determining whether a Russian or Belarusian athlete actively supports the war? The initial concept of the conditions of participation has been developed.
No decision has been made yet. What the details might look like remains to be studied and decided. At this stage, it is premature to try to answer this question,” the statement posted on the official website said vaguely.
