Polozyuk on bronze at the Grand Prix in Turin: This medal means a lot to me

Alina is satisfied with her work, which has brought success

Ukrainian fencer Alina Polozyuk commented on her bronze medal at the FIE Trofeo Inalpi Grand Prix, which took place in Turin.

“After the first fight, I wasn’t so scared anymore. I remembered the phrase that I should tear everyone apart, that I should inflict different injections and win. My mentor Larisa Pavlenko was in touch with me all day, after each fight we called up, sorted out mistakes, prepared tactics for the next fights.

“I just graduated from juniors a year ago. This medal means a lot to me. This is such a boost! This gave me an understanding that I can win from everyone, that I need to work and that my work is rewarded. At these competitions, I controlled myself very well, I found the necessary “golden mean”. I want to be able to climb the podium in other competitions in the future too.”

Recall that in the semifinals, the Ukrainian lost to the current world champion Isaora Tibus from France (6:15). During the tournament, Alina defeated four rivals, including the Tokyo Olympic champion and the world ranking leader, American Lee Kiefer.

“Bronze” of the Grand Prix in Turin has become historical for the Ukrainian team. Previously, Ukrainians have never managed to win medals in the individual foil championship at Grand Prix or World Cup competitions.
