Lomachenko vs. Haney is expected to take place on May 20 in Las Vegas
WBO junior welterweight title holder Josh Taylor said that thinks ex-world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko favorite in the upcoming fight with the absolute world champion in the lightweight division Devin Haney.
“I don’t know how this fight will turn out. I think Lomachenko is in a bit of a slump right now. In the last few fights, we’ve seen his age take a toll. But perhaps it was because he didn’t have the fear factor of the opponent who fought him.”
“However, I would still call Lomachenko the favorite. But Devin Haney has gotten much better in recent fights. It’s definitely an attractive fight. I can’t choose just one. I love Lomachenko, so I’ll name him, but my mind says Haney will win.”
Recall that Lomachenko has been in a training camp in the United States for several weeks and is preparing for a fight with Haney. The fight is expected to take place on May 20 in Las Vegas.
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. For the Ukrainian, this was the first and only fight for 10 months.
Last October, Haney defeated George Kambosos again to retain the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
