Became known the composition of the Russian national handball team for friendly matches with the team of Belarus

Team management staff Russia in handball, led by Velimir Petkovich, announced the composition of the team for friendly matches with the team from Belarus.

On March 9, the Russian national team will fly to Minsk, where on March 10 and 11 they will play with Belarus.

– We have called 18 handball players to the meeting so that everyone can have enough playing time in the upcoming games in Minsk. We can say that, given several defeats, this is our strongest team. In training camp, we will analyze our January games, in particular the counter-attacks and the fast play in the center. And if then we defended well according to the 6-0 scheme, now we will work a lot on the 5-1 variant. Let’s also apply it to Minsk,” Petkovich told the Russian Handball Federation press service. – We have known each other for a long time and communicate well with the head coach of the Belarusian national team Yury Shevtsov. I saw how upset he was after two defeats in Moscow and how close he was to revenge. As far as I know, Belarusians will call up all their strongest handball players, including legionnaires, who were absent in January. My goal for games in Minsk is to play 5-1 defense, a quick comeback in defense. But, like any coach, I always want to win. So we are waiting for interesting games.

The composition of the Russian team is as follows:

Leftmost: Egor Kochura, Nikita Iltinsky (both – “Victor”).
