Man City didn’t hold the winning score in Leipzig
Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola commented on the draw the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League With Leipzig (1:1).
“I am happy with how we played in this match, not only in the first half. Many strong teams have already been eliminated from this tournament. Therefore, if we were expected to win 4-0 here, then I apologize. We can’t do it.”
“We didn’t take a step forward in the second half. They started pressing even harder. But we gave the right reaction to the conceded goal and had a good time in the last 20 minutes. We had good moments both in the first and second half. A draw can be considered a good result.”
Recall that the guests opened the scoring in the first half – Riyad Mahrez scored. Leipzig managed to equalize after the break thanks to a goal from Joshko Guardiola.
The second leg will take place in Manchester on 14 March.
