One of the leaders of NAVI – about the future of the club
CEO of the Ukrainian esports organization Natus Vincere Evgeny Zolotarev spoke about the future of the club and the work of the club academy.
“I can’t imagine that we could buy a player from a Russian club, even if they hide behind Armenian flags. In the long term, of course, we want to focus on Ukrainian talent, and this is evident in our academy project, which now consists of only Ukrainian players. But these changes take time. We know we can’t supply 16 year olds [игроков] to the main roster. They need to spend several years in the system to know the expectations, the rules, and the like,” Zolotarev said.
“We want to be a club where the best Ukrainian players will play. At the same time, we are building a global brand, so there is a chance that we will consider international players in all disciplines. Relatively soon, the projects of our academy can become international.”
Note that Russian players are in the NAVI CS:GO, VALORANT, Brawl Stars, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and Dota 2 rosters.
In January, Natus Vincere received a special trophy from UNITED24 for helping and supporting Ukraine. Earlier, NAVI raised $500,000 as part of a charity initiative and the BORN TO BE BRAVE tournament with the participation of the strongest teams in the world.
