Another sports tournament was removed from the aggressor country as punishment for the invasion of Ukraine.
The European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in 2023 will not be held in Russia. According to the European Gymnastics Union, the competition was eliminated in the aggressor country due to the invasion of Ukraine.
The report says European sanctions will prevent Russia from fulfilling its obligations to host Euro-2023. Accordingly, the procedure for selecting another country where the sporting tournaments will be held has been re -introduced.
It should be noted that the last time the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship was held in Russia was 10 years ago, so the championship was led by Nizhny Novgorod. In 2020, the competitions will be held in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.
