The French Ministry of Sports will work out a mechanism to make the assistance effective

France will allocate 1 million euros for the preparation Ukrainian athletes To Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, said the sports minister Amelie Udea-Castera.

“My ministry is going to allocate specific assistance in the amount of 1 million euros so that the Ukrainian delegation, which is going to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, can be as well prepared as possible.”

“We want Ukraine to perform as well as possible. We will determine the best way to make this assistance as effective as possible.”

The official also said that she was not considering the possibility of participation in the Games of Russian and Belarusian athletes in any status.

“At this stage, we are not considering the possibility of participation of Russian athletes even under a neutral banner. This raises a number of issues that are very important to us and that cause skepticism today,” the minister said.

Recall that the IOC is ready to consider the possibility of admitting athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions. In this case, everyone who wishes will be required to act in a neutral status. Also, athletes should not support the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and pass a mandatory doping test.

The Olympic Summit, chaired by IOC President Thomas Bach, unanimously agreed to accept an initiative proposed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to take part in its competitions. The OCA is developing a special system that will allow Russians to qualify for the Olympics through Asian competitions.

The IOC believes that a complete ban on the performance of Russian and Belarusian athletes is discrimination and is contrary to the Olympic Charter. The organizers of the 2024 Olympics in Paris said they would adhere to the decision of the IOC to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete under a neutral flag.
