Athletistic/Figure Skating. USSR Honored Coach in Figure Skating Alexei Mishin says his student Gleb Lutfullin recently fell ill and therefore withdrew from the Russian Grand Prix final.

Gleb qualified for the final with the second mark, taking first place in the first stage in Moscow and winning the stage in Samara. In the final, Lutfullin was replaced by another figure skater from the Mishin group – Matvey Vetlugin, who, following the results of two stages of the Russian Cup, took 15th place – 5th place at the Samara stage and 6th place at the permanent stage.

“Gleb made a decision after discussing with the coaches. He said, “Bad – I don’t want to, good – I didn’t have time to get in shape,” Mishin said.
