29 delegates voted for the transition of the FSR to Asia, 1 voted against, 6 abstained. The transition will take place on May 1, 2023.
“Today a historic event took place: for the first time a chess federation, one of the strongest in the world, moved from one continent to another”, quotes the press service of the FSHR, the head of the organization Andrei Filatov.
The Russian Chess Federation is the first Russian sports organization to change its regional composition from Europe to Asia.
