“There shouldn’t be interviews like this.” Goncharenko criticized Nugumanova for the accusations against the coach

Honored coach of the Russian Federation Inna Goncharenko, in a commentary for , criticized the Russian figure skater Elizaveta Nugumanova by candid interview in which the athlete told about the humiliation of his trainer Evgeny Rukavitsyn over being overweight.

Previously, Nugumanova gave an interview to , in which she accused Rukavitsyn and her team members of bullying, systematic scolding over weight and threats.

– How did you react to the highly publicized affair with Liza Nugumanova?

— Negatively. I think such interviews should not be. Teachers should be respected and brought up in such an environment. I have known Zhenya Rukavitsyn for many years and I do not believe this is possible. If the coach says something unbiased in practice, he does it somehow to stimulate the student. Either way, it’s for the good of the athlete, because you can’t constantly stroke the fur.
