Chisora: Haney can handle Lomachenko with his jab

Negotiations on the duel between the Ukrainian and the American champion continue

British heavyweight Derek Chisora gave advice to the absolute world champion in lightweight Devin Haney regarding the expected fight against the former world champion in three weight divisions Vasily Lomachenko.

“Devin outwitted his last opponents. Every time they get close, he throws his jab – eat that. He retreats – eat. And every time he wants to hit, his jab goes through.”

“It works for him. When he opens with a jab, then everything else adds up. But most fighters want to throw five combos together before they throw the jab,” Chisora said.

Recall that Lomachenko has been in a training camp in the United States for several weeks and is preparing for a fight with Haney. Earlier there was information that the fight will take place on May 20 in Las Vegas. At the same time, Haney wants to fight Lomachenko in Saudi Arabia.

Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. For the Ukrainian, this was the first and only fight for 10 months.

Last October, Haney defeated George Kambosos again to retain the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
