“It’s sad, but expected. Chess is the first sport in which Russia made the transition to Asia from Europe, trying to avoid sanctions,” the specialist wrote on social media.

The Constitutional Commission of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) has already studied the possibility of a transition. The experts found no reason to reject the FSR’s claim. It is planned that from May, Russian grandmasters will be able to participate in Asian tournaments.
