In general, the coach is satisfied with the work of his wards
Senior coach national team of Ukraine biathlon Yuraj Sanitra commented on the performance of men in the sprint at the start of the World Cup in Nove Mesto.
“After the World Cup, there was a short pause, during which not everyone could adequately train. Therefore, I will say that if you look at the team result today, we can be satisfied.”
“Today, after this pause, not everyone can be satisfied, someone expected more from us. But as a team, we performed well in difficult conditions, especially those at the shooting range.”
“If you look at individual results, then Anton Dudchenko ran a good start today. He physically felt good, and coped with the shooting in difficult conditions. But not everything was good with logistics today. Therefore, I think that Anton could be higher than 17th place. We made a little mistake with the skis, and this factor played into the fact that he could not compete for the top ten.
“I will not say that it was a service error. But it didn’t work out with skis the way we wanted it. And if you want to compete with the best athletes, Norwegians and Swedes, then you need to do everything to have skis at a high level.”
“Dmitry Pidruchny showed a good move. He moved easily on the track, but reacted incorrectly to the wind during shooting, so he had two misses on the first firing line. Prima came here in not the best physical condition. There is a little bit of work to be done, so the time on the track was not what we would like to see.
“Tsymbal started in the last group, so the conditions were a little worse. The track was broken. He coped with the shooting, but showed only the average level of his abilities. Denis Nasyko was not originally the same as I saw him at the World Championships. He lost too much on the track and did not cope with the shooting.
The best result of Ukraine in the men’s sprint was the 17th place of Anton Dudchenko. The Norwegian Johannes Be triumphed in the race.
The stage in Nové Mesto will continue with the women’s sprint race.
