Pidruchny: 32nd place is not the worst thing that could happen. But of course I’m not happy with the result

Dmitry made three mistakes

Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Pidruchny summed up the results of the men’s sprint at the World Cup in Nove Mesto. According to Pidruchny, he may miss several races due to problems with his leg.

“Of course, I constantly feel discomfort, because the muscles and ligaments on the operated leg are not yet completely ready. In Oberhof, it was like that with each race, the discomfort increased and the leg began to hurt more.

“I hope that until the end of the season I will survive. You may have to skip some races. But I hope that now the reserve of strength that is in that leg is enough to run through the season.”

“The right leg, in principle, is not the same as the left. Certain sections of the track are hard for me, because it is still weak, and I try to compensate for this on other sections of the track, where it works better.

“I haven’t figured out the reasons for the errors in shooting yet. I will say that the shooting was already some kind of nervous – not the way it should be. It was hard to shoot. So far it is difficult to answer, but these days I hope to find and correct these errors.”

“The result is clearly not positive. I can’t say that this is a very bad result. Yes, and with three misses, 32nd place is not the worst thing that could be. But of course I’m not happy with the result.”

The best result of Ukraine in the men’s sprint was the 17th place of Anton Dudchenko. The Norwegian Johannes Be triumphed in the race.

The stage in Nové Mesto will continue with the women’s sprint race.
