Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin explained how the investigation is progressing regarding the environment of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, who in February 2022 fell into a doping scandal.
“The investigation is being conducted by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) in full compliance with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations. Accurate information will be announced as soon as the results become available. We provide full cooperation to the “Investigation. Kamila is the face of Russian sport, an outstanding athlete, and we do not question her sporting results,” Matytsin said.
During the Beijing Olympics, the positive result of Kamila Valieva’s doping test, carried out in December 2021, was made public. An investigation has been opened, due to which the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team has not yet received gold medals for winning the Olympic team competition in figure skating. One of the winners of the team competition was Valieva.
