It turns out that the two best dancing couples will not come to St. Petersburg at the end of the season. In addition, a couple broke up completely. Annabel Morozov will no longer skate with David Narizhny, despite the fact that for her, her relationship with Elizaveta Shanaeva has actually broken up. Morozov’s new partner is Igor Eremenko. But with him, the skater intends to perform well abroad.
The sixth couple in the rating also broke up – Dario Chirizano and Irina Khavronina, the Italian returned home. As a result, Narizhny and Khavronina formed a new duo, but they will perform together in the new season.
Leaders Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva and Yegor Bazin will miss the tournament simply because they hadn’t originally planned to play. They won two rounds in Samara and Sochi but were criticized for being favored by the judges. Even with falls, they received more points than the rest of the couples. Not a single clean performance, but in the end two victories.
The seventh couple in the ranking will not participate in the tournament – Elizaveta Psechnik and Maxim Nekrasov. The reason for this is the disease of the partner.
As a result, the main contenders for the medals are the pairs Sofya Tyutyunina / Andrey Bagin, Vasilisa Kaganovskaya / Valery Angelopol and Elizaveta Shanaeva / Pavel Drozd. The first two pairs at the Grand Prix stages achieved a victory and a second place, and Shanaeva and Drozd twice finished second, but they were inferior to the leaders – Khudaiberdiyeva / Bazin and Morozov / Narizhny.
