In men’s figure skating this season, the competition is close to what we see in women’s. There were a lot of worthy athletes with approximately the same level, and therefore the intensity of the fight among men is not inferior to women’s competitions. In Krasnoyarsk, at the Russian Championship, the brilliant performance of Evgeny Semenenko captivated the judges and the spectators, he won the free program and knocked out Pyotr Gumennik. It turned out a unique situation, two athletes scored the same number of points, but the organizers did not award two gold medals, they gave victory to Semenenko for winning the free program. Although Gummennik deserved this victory. And today we expect another round of confrontation, which will be joined by Russian Championship bronze medalist Alexander Samarin, this season’s only two-stage Grand Prix winner Dmitry Aliyev, the winner of the Sochi Mark Kondratyuk. Also, we must not forget Alexei Erokhov and Andrei Mozalev.
Among the losses, the main one is Gleb Lutfullin, second in the classification of the Russian Grand Prix, retired due to poor form and finally replaced by Matvey Vetlugin.
