The first gold of Ukraine at the European Championship 2023 in Istanbul
Ukrainian athlete Yaroslav Maguchy won gold in the high jump at the European Championships 2023 indoor athletics in Istanbul.
Maguchy jumped 1.98 m on the first attempt and guaranteed herself first place. Later, Yaroslava stormed 2.03, but could not improve on her own best result of the season in the world.
Ukrainian Ekaterina Tabashnik won bronze. She jumped to 1.94. Yulia Levchenko also took 1.94, but was only 5th with more attempts.
For Ukraine, this is the first gold at the European Championship 2023 in Istanbul. Earlier, Ukrainian Roman Kokoshko won a bronze medal at the European Championships 2023 in the shot put.
