The Seimas of Lithuania adopted a Resolution on the ban on performances by Russians and Belarusians at the Olympic Games

Decision taken unanimously

Seimas of Lithuania unanimously adopted Resolution on the ban on performances by Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions, including the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Summit, chaired by IOC President Thomas Bach, unanimously agreed to accept the initiative proposed by the Olympic Council of Asia, allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus to take part in its competitions.

The International Olympic Committee is also ready to consider the possibility of admitting athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions, including the 2024 Olympics. At the same time, everyone who wishes will be required to act in a neutral status.

The 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. The mascots of the Summer Games were the Phrygian caps, which were named Phrygi.

It should be noted that today the International Fencing Federation (FIE) agreed on the return of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the international arena, subject to the conditions of neutrality and individual admission.
