Bean Goose can safely be called the leader of the national team, says Enbert

2018 Olympics silver medalist in team competition Alexandre Enbert believes that Pierre Gumennik can be called the leader of the Russian national figure skating team in men’s singles.

– It seems to me that after the Russian Championship, where Petr Gumennik and Evgeny Semenenko scored the same points, they still had a certain sense of excitement and a desire for revenge, so it was interesting to watch their struggle. If in the Russian Championship they were approximately equal, then in the Grand Prix final Peter was even better – a well-deserved first place, without question.

I think he can safely be called the leader of the team. He performed well in the Russian Championship and in the Grand Prix Final he confirmed that he was in good shape and mastered complex elements. For me, the most interesting thing in the fight between Gumennik and Semenenko was how the guys after the Russian championship will determine which of them is the coolest, Enbert told the championship.

Gumennik won the Russian Grand Prix Final with a score of 282.12 points. Second place was taken by Dmitry Aliev (277.74), third – by Mark Kondratyuk (273.40).

Last season, Gumennik also won the silver medal in the Russian championship, and also became the runner-up in the national championship in show jumping.
