The Ukrainian team finished the European Weightlifting Championship with a record number of medals

And became the best among women’s teams

Team of Ukraine won 21 medals European weightlifting championship in Tirana.

Ukrainian weightlifters won seven big medals in the biathlon (snatch and clean and jerk) – two gold, four silver and one bronze. Including small medals – seven gold, nine silver and five bronze.

21 medals – a record result of the Ukrainian team at the European championships in weightlifting. The women’s team of Ukraine with 18 medals became the best in the standings of women’s teams (seven gold medals, two of which are big).

The only absolute European champion among Ukrainians was Irina Deha, who won three gold medals (in the snatch, clean and jerk and biathlon) in the weight category up to 81 kg. Another owner of big gold was Maria Gangur (weight category up to 64 kg).

The only medal in men’s biathlon was brought to Ukraine by Dmitry Voronovsky, who won bronze in the weight category up to 55 kg.
