Five-time Olympic synchronized swimming champion Natalya Ishchenko has been named to the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) with her career, according to Russian national team head coach Tatyana Pokrovskaya.
The International Swimming Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on September 30 in the United States.
— This is very good news for our synchronized swimming. Very honorable. We are proud of Natalia Ishchenko. She has earned such recognition throughout her career, it’s a nomination to the hall of fame of the best in history. We hope that one day Svetlana Romashina will also be on this list, so it will be very good, Pokrovskaya told .
Ishchenko won five gold medals during his career at the Olympics: in Beijing – in a group, in London and Rio de Janeiro – in a duet with Svetlana Romashina and in a group.
