Haaland equals Messi and Luiz Adriano’s record of scoring five goals in the Champions League

The Norwegian also rewrote a number of other achievements in the Man City match with Leipzig

Forward Manchester City Erling Holland broke the record for goals scored in one Champions League match.

The forward scored five goals against Leipzig (7:0) in the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. Prior to that, striker Lionel Messi managed to score the same number of goals in a match with Bayer in March 2012, and Shakhtar forward Luis Adriano in a match with BATE Borisov in October 2014.

Also, the Norwegian rewrote a few more achievements. The 22-year-old striker became the youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals in just 25 games, the fastest ever. Haaland also set a new Manchester City record for goals scored in a season, scoring for the 39th time.

In addition to the team of Josep Guardiola, Benfica, Milan, Chelsea, Bayern and Inter reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. On Wednesday, two more quarter-finalists will be determined after the Napoli-Eintracht and Real-Liverpool matches.
