The athlete will hold her final race at the World Cup in Holmenkollen
German biathlete Denise Herrmann-Wick announced end of sports career.
The 34-year-old athlete will hold her last competition at the final World Cup stage of the season in Holmenkollen, Norway. Herrmann-Wik notes that she held her first world championship in cross-country skiing on the track in Oslo, and after a while she switched to biathlon.
Deniz is the Beijing 2022 Olympic champion in the individual race. The German biathlete won the world championships twice. This season, Hermann-Wiek has won two victories, including in the sprint at the 2023 World Cup in Oberhof.
The final stage of the Biathlon World Cup will be held in Holmenkollen from 16 to 19 March. The men’s sprint, which will take place on Thursday, will open the competition program. The beginning is at 16:15 Kyiv time.
