The legendary Norwegian will no longer play at a professional level.
Two-time Olympic champion and ten-time world champion Tiril Eckhoff has announced his retirement.
The Norwegian posted a post on Instagram announcing his decision.
“Now I’m leaving biathlon. Last March I won two races in Golmenkollen. Little did I know then that these would be my last victories as a biathlete – I have plans to continue.
Biathlon has been my life for as long as I can remember, and it’s hard to imagine life without it. I had been away from it for a long time last year, so it felt like a natural transition to the step I took today. It’s strange and a little sad, but at the same time it’s right,” Eckhoff wrote.

It will be remembered that the Norwegian won the world championships, winning two silver and three bronze. Tiril is also the owner of the Large Crystal Globe.
It was previously reported that Marte Olsby Røiseland will retire at the end of the season.
