Sanitra: Today we lacked both physical and psychological strength

Bohdan Tsymbal ran the race as the best Ukrainian

Male trainer national team of Ukraine biathlon Yuraj Sanitra commented on the performance of his wards in the sprint race at the stage World Cup in Norwegian Holmenkollen.

“We didn’t have enough physical and psychological strength today. This especially affected Anton Dudchenko, who did not feel very well in this race before the start. I would say that the positive thing was that Artem Prima spent the first part of the sprint at a very good level. It is a pity that after two penalty loops, he was not enough to finish. Artem, in my opinion, was the best of the Ukrainians.

“I think that both the fans and everyone else understand that the season was long: there were a lot of problems that needed to be solved … Everyone is a bit head at home. And we are ready to rest, or to prepare for the remaining starts.

“After the two previous stages of the World Cup, a lot of tension subsided a little [за место в Кубке Наций], we did not set special goals for this launch. Everyone went to the track to fight for the best result. But, as I already said, what the guys showed in Östersund is not enough.”

“I think that we spent a lot of energy there too, so I am glad that we kept our position in the Nations Cup. Ninth place – after the problems that were in the season – this is the maximum for our men’s team.

Recall that today in Norway the stage was opened by the men’s sprint. The Norwegian Johannes Be won the race. The best result among Ukrainians was shown by Bogdan Tsymbal – 44th place.
