Usyk’s promoter explained the reason for the delay in signing the contract for the fight
Alexander Krasyukpromoter of the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyksaid that signing a contract for a unification fight with WBC title holder Tyson Fury delayed by british boxer’s side.
“We are all set. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve got everything ready. It remains only to get Tyson’s confirmation. And he is not. It is only in social networks that he seems to be ready and supposedly preparing for battle.
“You can see for yourself that negotiations are now taking place in social networks between the fighters. And we are waiting for the draft contract, because we have already spent so many months on all this.”
Recall that Usyk accepted Fury’s offer to split the fee 70/30 with the condition that the Briton donate one million pounds to Ukraine immediately after the fight. The fight for the title of absolute world champion is planned to be held on April 29 at Wembley Stadium.
It was also reported that Fury suggested that Usyk not include a rematch clause in the unification fight contract. The Ukrainian urged Tyson to sign the contract in its original form, since it was the British side that offered the opportunity for revenge, and promoter Alexander Krasyuk suggested that Fury was avoiding a fight with Usyk.
Fury has already opened his training camp to prepare for the fight with the Ukrainian. The Briton said that he was leaving social networks for the duration of training at the camp. Usyk is also actively preparing for the fight.
