“We don’t like girls – we don’t walk with an evil look” – Kovalev about friendship with Semenenko

Russian figure skater Artem Kovalev told Sport24 that he communicates better in the national team with Evgeny Semenenko.

– Among our guys, with whom do you communicate the most?

– Zhenya Semenenko, he is the best of the best (the best of the best). We have known each other since 2014. We became friends in Spartakiad before the coronavirus. Since then, we have stayed in touch. We’re not like girls – we don’t walk around with a bad look, we treat each other adequately, even before the start, we shake hands, say hello, joke.

We spent a lot of time with Zhenya at the Russian championship – we went to the girls’ skates, played Clash Royal in the hall, watched TikTok, just talked.

What topics can you talk about?

– To the different. We can also discuss figure skating – look at our skates, the guys’ skates. But most of the time, the conversation is about other topics.

Kovalev took 10th place in the final of the Russian Grand Prix in figure skating, Semenenko was fourth.
