The teams parted with a goalless draw in the opening match of the 18th round of the UPL
Acting Head Coach Metallist Peritsa Ognenovich after the match with Alexandria (0:0) in the 18th round, the UPL focused on the progress of its players.
“We knew it was going to be a very tough game because Alexandria is a good team. We tried to play our best. I think a draw is a fair outcome for this match.”
“We lost two games at the start, so we wanted to win today. But you need to understand that we were opposed by an opponent with very good ball control. In general, this is one of the best teams in Ukraine now. I will say this: we can be satisfied with today’s result.
“We played a draw today and did not concede. This is an improvement over the last two matches. We will try to continue to improve our defensive game, because until today the quality in this phase was lacking.”
“We have a lot of work ahead of us. Now we clearly see the shortcomings in our game. We will work on this and at the same time prepare directly for the match with Kolos.”
Metalist is in 13th position in the UPL standings. On April 1, Ognenovich’s wards will play with Kolos.
