Lyudmila and Elena defeated the American duo
Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok And Elena Ostapenko from Latvia made it to the second round of the doubles tournament WTA 1000 in Miami.
In the match of the 1/16 finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko, seeded under the third number, defeated the American duo Daniel Collins and Payton Stearns. Tennis players spent an hour and 16 minutes on the court.
Kichenok and Ostapenko lost in the first set 3:6, but did not leave their rivals a chance in the second set 6:1. At the super tie-break, Lyudmila and Elena won with a score of 10:8.
In the 1/8 finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko will play with the winners of the match Caroline Dolehide / Madison Keys – Veronika Kudermetova / Lyudmila Samsonova.
