President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe admitted that she does not expect anything new from the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the issue of allowing Russians to participate in international competitions, she is sure that everything will again be given to each sports federation.
The IOC Executive Committee meeting will be held from March 28 to 30. The agenda includes the issue of admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes.
– Judging by the trend that is already underway in the international federations, I think that the IOC will not do anything new, it will also say that it gives everything at the mercy of each international federation. Everyone will look for a reason. Some will say that they cannot give security to Russian and Belarusian athletes, others will leave everything as it is, since nothing changes with the NWO. I no longer expect anything. I was very surprised and upset by the FIS, who sent a message saying that their meetings would be closed to us. I don’t think there will be a positive trend,” Vyalbe told .
In February 2022, the IOC recommended that Russians should not be allowed to participate in international competitions. In January 2023, the IOC announced that it would consider the possibility of admitting Russian and Belarusian athletes to world starts in a neutral status, who did not actively support the SVO.
