Luis Carlos’ wife came out onto the road to photograph her husband at the moment of triumph, but he lost control of the bike and hit the girl, after which they both fell to the sidewalk.
“I wanted to slow down, but the brakes didn’t respond because of the rain. I hit my wife, but anyone else could have been in her place. Thank God she didn’t lost consciousness and suffered no serious injuries,” Chia said.
Claudia has abrasions to her left arm and shoulder, as well as a cut that required stitches to her head. Luis Carlos was not seriously injured in the fall.
