Head coach of the Russian men’s volleyball team Konstantin Bryansky on the air of the program “All for the match!” on the channel described the conditions of the International Olympic Committee as discriminatory (IOC ) for the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions.
The IOC on Tuesday recommended that international sports federations allow Russian athletes who do not support the CBO to compete in neutral individual status. These guidelines do not apply to team sports. In addition, the committee recommended excluding the participation of athletes associated with law enforcement.
– The discriminatory approach to sport is puzzling. Why are team sports prohibited? Why do we favor individual sports? I think we need to use a one-size-fits-all approach for all athletes here,” Bryansky said on .
In February last year, the IOC Executive Board recommended federations not to invite Russians and Belarusians to compete due to the situation in Ukraine. In many sports, athletes from both countries have been suspended from starts, some federations have allowed them in a neutral status, without national symbols.
