According to , the Russian figure skater Diana Davis ice dancing with Gleb Smolkin successfully underwent surgery in early 2021 and has since been fully cured of her hearing issues.
Previously Eteri Tutberidze said Davis was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, but it does not seriously affect his ability to hear music and figure skate. Davis, 19, and Smolkin, 22, made their senior debuts last season, finishing runners-up in the Russian Championship. The duo qualified for the 2022 Beijing Olympics where they finished 14th.
