“Medvedeva lost because she participated in the European Championships. It was a strategic mistake. After losing the European Championships, she no longer had an argument in her favor to win the Olympic Games.
With a faultless run from Zagitova, she had no chance of winning these Olympics,” Vaitsekhovskaya quotes the championship.
It should be noted that neither Zagitova nor Medvedev have announced their retirement yet.
