The President of the International Olympic Committee gave an answer to the question that interests everyone.
Whether athletes from aggressor countries will be allowed in the Olympic Games in Paris will be known no earlier than mid-summer this year. This was announced by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach.
According to him, at this stage, the IOC will monitor the implementation of the previously given recommendations, after which it will be known whether the Russians and Belarusians will participate in the main sports competition in four years.
The decision is promised to be made no earlier than a year before the start of the competitions in the French capital.
“The decision on the participation of athletes with a Russian or Belarusian passport will be made after a year remaining before the Games.
As we indicated in our recommendations, we will monitor their implementation, this is a complex issue. And now, the Association of International Summer Olympic Sports Federations has confirmed that it is ready to help and coordinate with international federations to make everything right. We will monitor the situation, then we will make a decision,” Bach said at a press conference.
Recall that earlier Poland refused to comply with the recommendations of the IOC regarding Russian athletes.
