Double Olympic champion in cross-country skiing, Norwegian Ragnhild Haga announced his retirement at the age of 32.
In mid-March, at one of the World Cup stages in Norway, Haga became the winner of the 50-kilometer marathon.
– After the World Cup, my time as a professional athlete is over. I feel like I need a change in my life, even if it’s sad and weird. I can’t wait to find new goals to work on myself, to be more comfortable with those who have supported me throughout my skiing career.
I will miss the big hugs after races, the laughs when we shared a room at training camp, the long distances together in the rain and wind. I have learned a lot, experienced a lot and accomplished a lot since I started skiing. I will never forget the path from children’s races to Olympic gold,” Haga wrote on the social network.
Haga won gold medals in the individual 10km and relay at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
