The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision about the entry of athletes from the aggressor countries into the tournaments.
National teams of Ukraine will boycott competitions in which athletes from aggressor countries will participate. This decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleg Nemchinov on the air of the national telethon.
The decision applies to all international competitions, including the qualifying rounds for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
“A protocol decision was made at a government meeting at the suggestion of Gutzeit’s colleague that we participate only in qualifying competitions where there are no Russians. Accordingly, participation outside these norms can be the basis for with the removal of federations of national status, “said Nemchinov.
It will be recalled that the IOC recommended that the federations return the athletes of Russia and Belarus to a neutral status. However, only in individual competitions, and not in team competitions.
Earlier, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine himself, as well as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Vadim Gutzeit, said that the boycott of the Olympics would be a drastic decision on the part of Ukraine.
