Athletistic/ Others. On the eve, it became known that Ukrainian athletes would not participate in tournaments to which Russian athletes would be admitted. This was stated by a member of the Executive Committee of the NOC of Ukraine Oleg Nemchinov.
The IOC headquarters has already responded to this statement saying the following: “If such a decision is implemented, it will only harm the Ukrainian sports community”.
Double Olympic hockey champion Oleksandr Kozhevnikov backed the IOC’s position on the Ukrainian issue.
“Politics is politics, but today the IOC answered correctly the only time. It does not matter if Ukraine is not in the competition, they laugh: today one thing , tomorrow another,” Kozhevnikov said as quoted by Match TV.
