His last visit to the messenger was recorded on the night of January 9. On the same day, Kostomarov was hospitalized with pneumonia, and later he developed necrosis, which led to the amputation of his foot and hand on the one hand, as well as several fingers on the other. Earlier, Russia’s honored coach Alexander Zhulin said he received a voicemail from Kostomarov, in which the skater said he was going to fight and actively engage in recovery after the incident.
