2018 Olympic Bronze Medalist Skier Anastasia Kuleshova told that she felt it was the right decision to return to professional sport after the birth of a child.
For the 28-year-old skier, the current season was the first full season after the birth of her daughter. Kuleshova won the 30km mass start at the 2022 Russian Championships and also became a bronze medalist in the skiathlon and relay race.
I needed mental rest. I’ve missed you a lot for two years, skiing is what I love, what I breathe. It would be a mistake not to come back.
Combining motherhood and sport is very difficult because, by communicating with girls who have also become mothers, I understand how different motherhood and attitudes towards children can be. I still want to go home with my child. When I train, I run faster at home to spend the extra 10 minutes with my child,” Kuleshova said on Special Reporting on .
Kuleshova won bronze at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang as part of the relay, she also won bronze at the 2019 World Championships.
